Centre opens.
All children group together in the Pipi room. This part of the day is called ‘family grouping’, the children often enjoy this part of the day as they are provided with opportunities to interact with children of all ages. Children that arrive before 7:30am are offered breakfast.
8:00am
By this time, children generally start to separate from the family grouping room, and depending on numbers, head to their own room with a familiar educator.
9:00 – 9:30am
Morning tea is served in the all rooms. Children are able to come and sit to eat when they have finished playing and enjoy a colourful platter of fresh fruit or a savoury Morning Tea.
9:30 – 11:00am
Indoor/outdoor play in children’s own room occurs based on children’s Interests.
11:00am – 12:00pm
Group time and transition to Lunch time. Children are encouraged to assist with room pack up and set up ready for lunch and rest time. Group activities suitable to the children in the group such as singing, dancing, reading stories and ‘show and tell’ take place before children are encouraged to wash their hands and sit down for lunch.
12:00 – 2:00pm
Children are offered a sleep or rest time as appropriate. Children who are going to sleep are encouraged to have a short quiet group time with stories before going to bed to help their food settle in their tummy. Children are welcome to have comfort items from home such as a special teddy, blanket or dummy. As children wake they are encouraged to dress themselves and then to engage with experiences in the room.
2:00 – 3:00pm
Afternoon tea is served. Children are able to come and sit to eat when they have finished playing and are feeling hungry.
3:00 – 5:00pm
Indoor/outdoor play in children’s own rooms continues.
5:00 – 6:00pm
All children group together in the Pipi room for family grouping. At around 5:30pm a late snack is served.
6:00pm
Centre closes.
